“Sandbar” is a sister piece to “Strata,” created for the same Airbnb project in Michigan. I approached this work with a very specific atmosphere in mind: the warmth of sun on skin, the grain of sand and stone, and the brightness of long summer days. Through layered texture and movement, the piece is meant to feel like a memory of a place you can almost step back into.
